Jersey Community Hospital (JCH) in partnership with University of Rochester Medicine Recovery Center of Excellence will be hosting Community Conversations on Opioid Use Disorder Workshops in Jersey, Greene, and Madison Counties. These workshops are not academic workshops about stigma, but rather conversations for participants to explore stigma, how we support people with Substance Use Disorder (SUD) and their families, and how we work together in our communities to reduce stigma.
The workshops use portraits and videos to facilitate discussion, making it very interactive. The workshops are scheduled for:
• Monday, June 12: 5:30- 8:00 p.m. at JCH Community Room (220 E. County Rd., Jerseyville);
• Tuesday, June 13: 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at JCH Community Room (220 E. County Rd., Jerseyville);
• Tuesday, June 13: 5:30-8 p.m. at Greene County Health Department, White Hall Office (407 N. Main Street, White Hall);
• Friday, June 16: 10:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at OSF Saint Anthony’s Health Center (1 Saint Anthony’s Way, Alton).
These workshops are an excellent opportunity for community members to come together and discuss the opioid epidemic, which has affected many families and individuals across the country. Participants will learn about SUD, stigma, and the importance of supporting those impacted by SUD. All are welcome to attend, and the workshops are free of charge.
