James C. “Archie” Graham, 62, of Jacksonville, IL, died Friday, June 2, 2023, in Cameron, AZ, due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.He was born Sept. 5, 1960, in Jacksonville, the son of James Arthur and Patsy C. (Howard) Graham. He married Dawn Renae Crawford and they divorced. He later married Jeanne (Stucker) Cooper on May 28, 2000, in Jacksonville, and she survives.
He is also survived by three sons, James Levi (Kara) Graham of Chapin, Kyle Richard Graham (Hannah Browning) of Meredosia and Tyler Graham of Jacksonville; his beloved dog, Romo; three grandchildren, Emma Renee, Easton James and Rhett Owen; two brothers, Mike Graham of Winchester and Randy (Jana) Graham of Milton; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Archie was a 1979 graduate of Winchester High School. He retired from the State of Illinois Secretary of State’s office after thirty-eight years of service. He enjoyed all types of hunting, fishing, and shooting his bow. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling with his friends and family and was a friend of the Bro Riders. Archie was a member of the Jacksonville Elks Club, played in pool leagues around Jacksonville and was an arm-wrestling champion. He also enjoyed spending Saturday nights out with friends enjoying a few gizmos. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and enjoyed going to games. He especially loved watching his grandkids play ball and enjoyed taking them hunting.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023, at the Buchanan & Cody Funeral Home in Jacksonville with burial at Martin’s Prairie Cemetery, near Roodhouse. The family will meet friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. prior to the service. Memorials are suggested to the Bro Riders Motorcycle Club to benefit the Shop With A Biker program or to his grandchildren.
