The Charleston Trojans took the win over Jersey Friday night in the Panthers home opener, 30-18.
The Trojans started scoring off in the quarter with a touchdown after an interception, but the Panthers immediately tied things up after the return kick with a touchdown from Landon Jones.
An interception gave the Panthers a chance for Aiden Talley to score a touchdown giving Jersey a 12-6 lead at the end of the first half.
Charleston came back in the second quarter to steal the lead from the Panthers by halftime. With two interceptions the Trojans were able to get two more touchdowns and take a 23-12 at the half.
The Panthers were able to get six more points in the second half of the game, but weren’t able to take the lead back from the Trojans with a final score of 30-18.
Jersey is set to host Civic Memorial at home on Friday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m.
