Pere Marquette State Park will be hosting a Fishing and Night Hike Owl Program on Friday, Sept. 29, and Friday, Nov. 3.
Urban Fishing Co-
ordinator Scott Isringhausen will lead an education program on fish and fishing starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Pere Marquette Visitors Center to start the evening before kids get a chance to cast their lines in the Blue Gill Pond.
A program on owls and other creatures you may hear when outdoors at night will start at 7:30 p.m. Following the informational program on owls, the group will go on a night hike to listen for owls and the nocturnal animals.
The night will end with a hotdog and marshmallow roast following the hike with drink and refreshments provided.
The event is free for families and it’s requested that each family bring a flashlight. It’s also noted that the hike will be about two miles long with a portion being uphill.
