Residents of Jersey County lined State Street in Jerseyville for the Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, Nov. 11,
Following the parade, spectators gathered in front of the courthouse to celebrate the bravery and sacrifices of local veterans, and pay tribute to those who selflessly served their country.
Pastor John Gibson of Eastland Baptist Church led the spectators in prayer before the presenting of colors and the playing of the Star Spangled Banner by the JCHS Band.
During Saturday’s event all veterans who were in attendance were asked to gather together nearby the flagpole as the crowd thanked them for their services with applause and gratitude.
