Calhoun Unit 40 Smart Start and Pre-K sponsored “Touch A Truck” night for kids of all ages and their families to see just how amazing big trucks and vehicles can be. It also provided the kids the opportunity to learn about safety and meet some amazing community helpers. Families also enjoyed pizza and door prizes for the kids.
Eleven vehicles participated in this event held at the elementary school on Thursday, Nov. 16. The Calhoun County Highway Department provided a few different types of equipment with County Highway Engineer Kyle Godar showing them to the kids, North Calhoun Fire Department with Marshall from Paw Patrol, Peters Tree Service (David Peters), Hardin Ready Mix (Matt Guntermann), Calhoun Unit 40 and local farmer Bill Simon brought his tractor for the kids enjoyment.
“It was an amazing turnout and the kids are so excited,” Pre-K administrator Lisa Kallal said. I think everyone there would agree all of the kid’s favorites were the horns and sirens.
