The Sierra Club invites the community to a free evening screening on Tuesday, Jan. 14, at 6:30 p.m. of an award-winning film “Water for Life / Agua es Vida” which tells the story of three extraordinary individuals: Berta Cáceres, a leader of the Lenca people in Honduras; Francisco Pineda, a subsistence farmer in El Salvador; and Alberto Curamil, an Indigenous Mapuche leader in Chile, all of whom refused to let government-supported industry and transnational corporations take their water and redirect it to mining, hydroelectric projects or large-scale agriculture.
This is a live presentation, only, so come early to meet the speaker and bring your dinner and drinks into the meeting room at Old Bakery. If you have any questions, call Chris Krusa, Program Chair 410-490-5024.
The presentation will take place at the Old Bakery Beer Co., 400 Landmarks Blvd., Alton, IL
