The Warriors 14U Softball Team took second in the Burlington Recplex Pre State Warmup Tournament in Burlington, Iowa. In the first game of the tournament the Warriors defeated the Lee County Stingerzs 2-1 when Kate Adams laid down a perfect bunt to score two runs in the last inning for a walk off victory. In the Championship game the Stingerz came back to win 12-6. The Warriors finished 4-1 in the tournament. Matte Grasle was 2-1 with 11 strikeouts. Kate Adams and Franci Hillen each won a game, finishing with eight and six strikeouts respectively. In hitting, Reese Hillen and Aubrey Wallendorf each had seven hits to lead the team. Aubrey had three doubles and Reese had a triple. Lola Gress had four hits including a home run. Hinley Hayn and Matte Grasle each had three hits. On the defensive side, Makayla Kamp made a couple of big catches in right field to preserve the quarterfinal game. (Submitted photo)
