There will be a new face heading up Greenfield Elementary School come this October, but it won’t be a new face to the district.
Long-time Greenfield teacher Julie Williams will become Dean of Students at Greenfield Elementary, taking over the duties previously held by Jeremy Lansaw, who had been the Grade School Principal.
In May, Lansaw asked to step down from his duties as principal and go back to teaching in the classroom, which the board approved.
“As we prepare to welcome students back for the 2025-26 school year, I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and share how excited I am to begin this new chapter as Dean of Students at Greenfield Elementary,” Williams said.
Williams said she is proud to be a lifelong member of the Greenfield community.
“I was raised here, attended school here and chose to raise my own family here,” she said. “This community and this school mean the world to me.”
Williams has taught in the Greenfield School District for the past 24 years. Her journey began as a special education teacher, then she was a third grade teacher, followed by a sixth grade teacher and, most recently, a junior high English Language Arts teacher for the seventh and eighth grades.
“Beyond the classroom, I have also spent many seasons coaching,” she said. “Whether it was pee-wee volleyball, high school and junior high volleyball or junior high track, I’ve always believed in the power of mentorship and teamwork, both on and off the field.”
Not much will change in her role as Dean of Students.
“Now, as Dean of Students, I will focus on fostering a positive and safe school environment supporting student growth and working closely with our incredible staff and families to ensure each child thrives,” Williams said. “I believe deeply in building strong relationships, clear communication and creating a school culture where everyone feels seen, heard and valued.”
Greenfield Superintendent Andy Stumpf said that Williams will assume the role of Principal as soon as she finishes taking the required administrative classes.
