JERSEY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL Launches Campaign to Support $22 Million Expansion to Enhance Patient Care and Specialty Services
A vision of the future: Jersey Community Hospital’s planned 30,000 square foot addition will expand surgical recovery space, bring new specialty services, and enhance patient comfort — all right here at home. This is the next step in building the future of healthcare for our community.
Jersey Community Hospital (JCH) is excited to announce the launch of a fundraising campaign to support a planned $22 million expansion of its main hospital campus. The project is designed to address current patient space limitations and bring additional specialty services to the region. The expansion envisions a 30,000 square foot addition that will enhance surgical recovery facilities, improve patient comfort, and provide the space needed to recruit new providers to meet the growing healthcare needs of the community.
“Our patients deserve access to high-quality care close to home,” said Kevin Zachary, Chief Executive Officer of JCH HealthCare. “This campaign allows our community to help make this vision a reality. By investing in the future of healthcare here at JCH, we can bring in new technology, expand specialty services, and create a healing environment that truly serves our patients.”
The planned expansion will include:
- The addition of private outpatient surgery recovery rooms
- New modern procedure rooms
- Multiple new state of the art infusion bays
- Space to attract new specialty services
- An overall 35% increase in hospital square footage
- Local job creation and economic growth
To fund this transformative project, the Jersey Community Hospital Foundation is leading a $5.2 million philanthropic campaign. To date, $4.87 million has already been secured through donations and grants, with the remaining $16 million in project costs supported through financing.
JCH is progressing through a three-phase project. Phase 1, completed in 2023, enhanced the hospital grounds with expanded employee parking and a larger helicopter landing pad. Phase 2, now underway, focuses on upgrading the hospital’s electrical and generator infrastructure to prepare for future growth. Phase 3 will include the planned two-story addition on the east side of the hospital, funded through a combination of loans, grants, and private philanthropy.
