Colby Pratt and Maysin Alexander combined for a no-hitter, and West Central beat Camp Point Central, 6-2, Saturday, Sept. 13 in the semifinals of the Virginia 8-2A IESA Baseball regional.
Pratt pitched five innings and allowed one unearned run and walked three batters. He struck out four. Alexander pitched two innings and allowed one unearned run, walked one batter and struck out two.
West Central (14-2) scored two runs in the first, second and sixth innings to advance to the championship game.
Brock Fuhler singled, and Maysin Alexander walked in the first inning. Knox Vortman singled to drive in both runs.
Mason Stocker walked in the second inning, and pinch runner Conner Springer scored on an error. Hudson Little walked and scored when Fuhler singled.
Stocker doubled and drove in one run in the sixth inning and scored when Little had sacrifice bunt.
Fuhler went 2-for-3 and drove in one run for West Central.
Vortman went 1-for-2 and drove in two runs. Stocker went 1-for-2, scored one run and drove in one run.
Little, Springer and Brycen Bloxam each scored one run.
