Probation revoked and new charges filed on Roodhouse woman

A Roodhouse woman is heading to prison after violating the terms of her parole, numerous times.
Greene County States Attorney Craig M. Grummel announced on Dec. 8 that Sheila M. Taylor, 45, of Roodhouse, has been sentenced to a term of three years in the Illinois Department of Corrections following the revocation of her probation in a case dating back to 2024.
Taylor had previously pled guilty to Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, a Class 3 Felony, and was originally granted a term 24 months probation in 2024. After repeated violations of the terms imposed by the Court, States Attorney Grummel filed a Petition to Revoke Probation.
Upon admission to those violations, Taylor was sentenced to the three-year term in the Illinois Department of Corrections, with credit for time served, on Dec. 8.
At the time Taylor committed the probation violations, she was also charged in a new methamphetamine possession case, to which she also pled guilty on Dec. 8. The sentenced in that case will run concurrent with the IDOC term imposed in the previous case.
Grummel emphasized the importance of accountability in addressing repeat criminal behavior.
“Ms. Taylor was given an opportunity to rehabilitate herself while living in the community,” he said. “Instead, she continued engaging in the same dangerous conduct. At that point, my office had an obligation to act to protect the public.”
Grummel also extended his appreciation to the officers who built the cases.
“I want to thank the Roodhouse Police Department for their continued vigilance in combating illegal drug activity in Greene County,” he said. “Their work was essential in ensuring this outcome.”
Taylor was remanded to the custody of the Greene County Sheriff and will be transported to the Illinois Department of Corrections to begin serving her sentence.
