The Lincoln Land Community College (LLCC) Outreach Center in Jacksonville will host a Workforce Institute Showcase the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, January 28, from 2-7 p.m.
In addition to featuring the different workforce programs available at LLCC, the event will also highlight additional resources to help prospective students understand the steps involved in enrolling in and accessing support services at LLCC.
The event will start a financial aid completion session from 2-5:30 p.m. Attendees of the financial aid portion of the event can expect to get guidance completing their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA.) LLCC staff will be on hand to make sure FAFSAs are submitted accurately and on time. Appointments are strongly encouraged, but walk-ins will be accepted as availability allows.
From 4:30-5:30 p.m., a Community Scholarship Night will allow attendees to visit an exhibit area with local community organizations providing information on various scholarships.
Participating organizations include the LLCC Foundation, Cass-Morgan Farm Bureau Foundation, Jacksonville Promise, NAACP, Rotary Foundation, Morgan County Sheriff’s Scholarship, The Job Center/West Development Council (WIOA Funding) and more.
Representatives from the LLCC Foundation will be available to answer questions and provide LLCC scholarship application assistance from 3-5:30 p.m.
From 5-7 p.m., the Workforce Programs Showcase will expose attendees to LLCC workforce programs that can lead to careers in the trades or other workforce sectors.
LLCC’s Workforce Institute directors and dean will be onsite to discuss programs like: CDL (truck driving), aviation maintenance, diesel and automotive technologies, industrial maintenance (advanced manufacturing), commercial electrical maintenance, construction occupations, hospitality and culinary, HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) and welding. The showcase is open to everyone.
