Delford M. and Portia K. Richter Agriculture Scholarship
The Delford M. and Portia K. Richter Agriculture Scholarship Fund seeks to encourage young people in Pike and Calhoun Counties, Illinois, to pursue careers in agriculture and contribute their knowledge and skills back to their community.
SCHOLARSHIP PURPOSE
The Delford M. and Portia K. Richter Agriculture Scholarship Award will annually provide scholarships to graduates from high schools in Pike and Calhoun Counties, Illinois, for study or training in agriculture and related areas. Priority will be given to study or training in production agriculture.
ELIGIBILITY
Bona fide residents of and/or graduates of high schools in Pike County or Calhoun County, Illinois. Pursuing education or training in agriculture and related areas at an accredited postsecondary educational or nonprofit technical institution located in Illinois, Missouri, or Iowa.
AMOUNT AND NUMBER OF AWARDS (2026)
$5,000 (minimum) Up to 32 awards total throughout Pike and Calhoun Counties
APPROVED USE OF AWARD
Tuition, fees, academic materials (e.g., books and supplies), and institution-sponsored, approved, or provided housing and meal plans at postsecondary educational or nonprofit technical institutions in Illinois, Missouri, or Iowa.
TIMELINE
January 12: Applications open
March 9th: Applications due
April 27: Students notified of award decisions
May 3: Scholarship award luncheon
