Jackie Lashmett scored with seven seconds remaining in the game, and West Central beat Beardstown 43-41 Feb. 12 in Bluffs.
Beardstown led 41-39 after making two free throws with 1:19 remaining. Ali Little caught a pass from Evynn Gregory and scored on a layup with 1:03 remaining and tie the game.

West Central inbounded the ball with 13.6 seconds, and Beardstown almost stole the inbounds pass. Little was able to recover and find Lashmett near the basket. Lashmett was able to score and give West Central a two point lead.
Beardstown had a chance to win the game in final seconds but missed a three-point shot attempt.
West Central trailed 20-4 in the first quarter. Lashmett scored, and Little made a free throw to cut the margin to 20-7 after one quarter.
West Central started the second quarter with an 11-0 run. Little made two free throws and cut the margin to 20-18. Gregory made two free throws with 14 seconds remaining, and the Cougars trailed 23-22 at halftime.
Little made two free throws at the start of the third quarter after Beardstown’s coach was assessed a technical foul at the end of the first half. That gave West Central a 24-23 lead.
Beardstown rallied and led 31-29 late in the quarter. Gregory made two free throws and tied the game with 1:40 remaining. Lashmett made a free throw with 4.6 seconds remaining, and West Central led 32-31 after three quarters.
Paisley Sturtevant made a three-point basket and extended the lead to 37-33 with 6:01 remaining. Beardstown scored, but Braylee Littlg scored to give West Central a 39-35 lead with 3:49 remaining.
Beardstown scored six straight points and led by two points with just over one minute remained.
Gregory scored 11 points and had 12 rebounds and four assists to lead the Cougars. Little scored nine points and had five rebounds, five assists and three steals.
Lashmett scored eight points and had five rebounds. Littig scored five points. Sofie Grubb scored two points and had six rebounds. Kaufmann scored two points.
