The North Greene Spartans played host to the Payson-Seymour Indians last week and took a scalping falling 19-2 in just five innings.
The Spartans allowed the Indians to score three in the first inning but came back and scored two themselves without even getting a hit in the bottom of the first.
Unfortunately, that was the last inning the Spartans would score in. The Indians, however, scored three more in the second, two in the third, a whopping eight in the second and three in the fifth to round out the scoring.
Two games into the season, Keatyn Gwartney is leading the team with a .750 batting average and a .800 on base percentage. Evan Scott leads in stolen bases with 1 and runs scored with 2.
The loss put the Spartans at 0-2 on the season.
