Jada Lawson had three hits, including a home run, to lead West Central to a 5-4 win over North Greene April 30 at Winchester.
Lawson homered to lead the bottom of the first inning for the Cougars.
Lawson doubled to lead off the third inning. Myah Little reached on a fielder’s choice, and Lawson scored when Karlie Kendall reached on an error. Hallee Lawson doubled and drove in Little and Kendall.
The Cougars led 4-3 and scored an insurance run in the sixth. Marissa Metz walked, and Jada Lawson doubled with one out. Metz scored when Little hit a sacrifice fly.
North Greene scored in the seventh and cut the final margin to one run.
Lawson went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a home run, scored two runs and drove in one run for the Cougars (8-10).
Kendall went 2-for-3 and scored one run. Hallee Lawson went 1-for-3 with a double and drove in two runs.
Kynlee Price went 2-3 with a double, and Jerzi Clark tripled. Metz scored one run.
JJ Weber allowed five hits over the seven innings and gained the victory. She walked two batters and struck out five.
