The Lovis Foundation is pleased to announce Hannah Klaas as a recipient of the 2026 Lovis Hero Award, recognizing her unwavering commitment to pursuing her personal best and inspiring others to do the same. Hannah’s superpower is her remarkable resilience and determination—qualities she brings to every academic, social, and community endeavor.
Hannah stands out not only for her academic dedication but for the integrity and moral courage she demonstrates daily. She consistently chooses what is right, even when faced with peer pressure or scrutiny, showing a maturity rooted in her values and faith. Rather than seeking external validation, Hannah focuses on her own continuous growth, embodying a mindset centered on excellence and character.
Beyond her personal achievements, Hannah is a natural servant leader who actively uplifts those around her. She volunteers regularly in her community and encourages her classmates to strive toward their own potential. Her leadership is grounded in empathy, humility, and a genuine desire to make others feel supported.
Hannah’s impact is felt in meaningful and lasting ways. On two separate occasions, she organized her classmates to support a teacher during important moments in her life—once through a classroom birthday celebration and again by coordinating cards and gifts before the teacher underwent surgery. These acts reflect more than kindness; they reveal Hannah’s remarkable ability to notice the needs of others and inspire people to come together in support and encouragement.
Whether through small gestures or larger acts of leadership, Hannah creates spaces where people feel seen, appreciated, and connected. The sense of belonging she fosters leaves a lasting impression on everyone around her.
“What makes Hannah extraordinary is not just what she does, but how she makes people feel. Through thoughtful acts of kindness and quiet leadership, she creates connection, encouragement, and a genuine sense of belonging for the people around her,” said Rene Eisele, Founder and President of The Lovis Foundation.
About the Lovis Student Awards and the Lovis Foundation
The Lovis Student Awards are presented annually by the Lovis Foundation, an Ohio-based nonprofit that celebrates students who lead with empathy, resilience, and a commitment to serving others. The Foundation was created in memory of Logan Brinson, whose joyful spirit inspired its motto: “Spread Joy. Hug Often. Be Kind.”
Each year, the Foundation honors students whose actions uplift their communities in meaningful and often unseen ways. From young inventors to peer mentors, these student heroes reflect the very best of what the next generation can be. The awards provide educators and community members with a way to recognize young people who are often overlooked. There is no academic requirement—only a demonstrated commitment to making a difference.
The Lovis Extraordinary Student Award honors 5th–8th grade students who promote kindness, compassion, and service to others.
The Lovis Hero Award recognizes 9th grade through extended services students who demonstrate resilience and determination in overcoming challenges.
