Winchester Grade School held their annual Penny Carnival on Saturday, March 11, with an absolutely fabulous turnout. There were dozens of items up for grabs in the silent auction and the gym was filled with games for the kids to play. In the cafeteria, there was plenty of food to be had for those with a rumbling tummy as well. All in all, the event raised an astonishing $8,739.42. That’s a heck of a lot of pennies, folks!

One of the games at the carnival consisted of trying to throw a frisbee through a hole. Finley Smith, 9, was pretty good at this game.

Can we say bad hair day! Jaylei Likes’, 6, hair stands straight up as she goes down the big blow up slide for the bigger kids.

Everyone has their own method of trying to get the ping pong ball in the little bowl and Ian Brown’s method was to bounce it into the bowl. Believe it or not, it is harder than it looks.

Pick a duck, any duck – which is exactly what Reece Davis, 2 did. There were games for all ages groups.

Alessandro Vitale, 2, plays on the smaller blow-up jumping cage for the smaller kids that was set up in the gym. After the kids got tired jumping, they had to go down a slide to get out.
