Morgan Plattner, Avery Wyatt, Ashley Waters, Macy Waters and Julie Boylen celebrate the first place finish of Wyatt and Waters in the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs State Talent contest over the weekend in Springfield. The dancers are competitive dance students at Ashley’s Dance Company in Barry. Plattner and Boylen are teachers at the studio, along with Ashley Waters, the owner.
Macy Waters, a freshman at Pittsfield High School and Avery Waters, a sophomore, won first place in the Illinois Association of Agricultural Fairs State Talent Contest over the weekend. The contest was held at the IAAF State Convention in Springfield. The contest was Saturday and was affiliated with the Illinois Miss County Fair Pageant.
The girls represented Calhoun after winning the Calhoun County Fair’s Talent Contest last fall.
Both girls are competitive dance students at Ashley’s Dance Studio in Barry.
The girls have danced together since they were five and six and have also won the junior division of the competition.
For the competition, the girls danced a jazz dance duet to “Never Had a Friend Like Me.”
