Keeping on the time line they established in the beginning, Pikeland Unit 10 hopes to announce a new superintendent next week at the Feb. 21 meeting.
“We are right on schedule,” Tara Bradshaw, president of the board, said.
Bradshaw said the board has offered the job to the person they have chosen, but that person has not officially accepted yet.
“We are working on putting together a package for the prospect,” Bradshaw said. “We hope to have it all finalized before Feb. 21.
The board met with a select number of candidates Jan. 27 and 28 and pared the number of applicants down.
The remaining contenders were interviewed Jan. 31 in a process that allowed a group of committee members, a group of school administrators and the board to interview the candidates one at a time.
Once the interviews were over, the board reached a decision and will announce it next week at the regular board meeting.
