Summer is the time for pageants and the latest pageant is the Greenfield Queen Pageant which takes place this Saturday, Aug. 3, at 7 p.m. in Veteran’s Park on the Greenfield Square.
After representing their community proudly for the past year, last year’s 2023 royalty will hand the reigns over to a new Miss Greenfield, Junior Miss and Little Miss.
Last year’s Miss Greenfield was Naomi Lansaw; Junior Miss, Leah Lansaw and Little Miss, Cailyn Alderfer.
The judges are going to have a hard time picking a winner from this batch of gals. There are four young ladies vying for the title of Miss Greenfield; eight in the running for Junior Miss and six little lasses for Little Miss.
Contestants for Miss Greenfield are: Lucy Rives, Elaina Lansaw, Brooklyn Giberson and Shyanne Sullivan.
Contestants for Junior Miss Greenfield are: Hannah White, Adi Talley, Ava Kinser, Mara Wood, Alia Hilderbrand, Quinn Rives, Avery Wright and Shayde Adams.
Contestants for Little Miss are: Jolee Barnett, Kressa Weller, Anna Johnson, Briant Armold, Vivienne Pembrook and Kinsley Waldron.
There will also be food and drinks available for purchase so there is no need to rush to get supper before going to the pageant.
The Greenfield Triennial Homecoming Committee will have a food stand to raise money for next year’s Triennial Homecoming. On the menu will be ribeye sandwiches, smashburgers, hot dogs and chips.
After supper, hop over to the library concession stand where they will be serving snow cones, lemonade, soda and water.
