The following students have been selected by the Pikeland Community School faculty and staff as the October Students of the Month. Students are nominated by faculty/staff members and are presented to the Student Council Spirit Committee. Three finalists from both D- and C-pod are selected as finalists, and faculty and staff select one winner from each. Winners include:
Cpod
Avery Howland. Her nomination said: “This little girl is the sweetest, kindest, most polite and pleasant student! I have never seen more respect, more manners, more kindness for others, or more attention to her work from too many — all that and she is only 8! I think PCS lights up every time she enters the building, and I can see that with a student like this one, the future of this school looks pretty bright! I would be a shame to let this one be overlooked!”

Josie McClintock
Josie McClintock. Her nominator said: “This young lady is almost a mind-reader. She seldom waits to be asked to complete a task. She sees what needs to be done, selects someone to help her, then comes and askes, “Would you like us to…?” This is the ultimate definition of true leadership. She does this in everything she is tasked with. School work, extracurricular activities, even at lunch and recess. I am proud to nominate her for October student of the month!”
Avery, Josie, along with Hayden Gratton and Matthew Reveal are now eligible to be selected as the PCS D- and C-pod Students of the year.
Other nominees for October are: Charlee Lister, Emma Wombles, Gabe Simmons, Rylie Lipcaman, Avalynn Callahan, Audri Roig, Mariah Thomas, Sadie Ruble, Taylor Lowry.
