The Carlinville ClayBusters shotgun team received a $4,687.00 NRA Foundation award from the Macoupin County Patriots – Friends of the NRA. These funds assist shooting teams with expenses such as ammunition, targets, entry fees, team gear, and more. Friends of NRA proceeds are used to fund projects both nationally and, in the state, where the money was raised. More than 86 percent of the grants fund youth shooting programs through Boy Scouts, local youth shooting teams, gun clubs, 4-H, Women on Target, etc.
“We are proud to provide funds to the Clay Busters, these funds help more athletes to participate in shooting sports where they’ll learn leadership skills, confidence, discipline, and gun safety that will benefit them throughout their lives” said Dave Odorizzi of the Macoupin County Patriots – Friends of the NRA
Coming off another successful year in which several squads won national titles. New ClayBuster Head Coach Jerod Cottingham said, “The funds from the Macoupin County Patriots – Friends of the NRA will help offset costs allowing the ClayBuster athletes to compete at the state, regional and national level.”
