It took a long time to draw out the names of the 31 winners of the various baskets at the Greenfield Public Library’s basket raffle held Saturday morning during their combination Basket Raffle and 31st Anniversary, but it was well worth it for Becky Terpening. She was the lucky winner of the Hometown Basket. This basket contained over $600 worth of merchandise and gift certificates from local businesses in the area purchased by the library board to say thank you to those who have patronized the library for all these many years. Terpening, right, received everything in these three large baskets, many of which were gift certificates. Library Board President Amy Turpin, center, had the pleasure of drawing out the winning name. Terpening’s husband, Bob, left, had to get in the picture since he lost out on the basket he wanted – the golf basket – and felt left out. (Carmen Ensinger/Greene Prairie Press)
