The Griggsville-Perry Eagles played in the seventh grade 1A first round of the state tournament Saturday. They won their first game, over Effingham Sacred Heart, 42-26. In the 5 p.m., game the 19-7 Eagles feel 43-33 to Peoria Limestone Walters. The loss moves them to the third place game Thursday Feb. 10 at 6 p.m.
In the first game, the Eagles were led by Brody Rush with 16 points, followed by Kasen Brown with 14. Hunter Brown had seven, Mario Rogers had 1, Blake Howland had 4.
No stats were available from the second game.
