A Roodhouse woman has avoided jail time for her involvement in a burglary at a convenience store in Murrayville in May of 2021.
Talesha Castleberry, 22, pled guilty in Morgan County Circuit Court on March 15 to an amended charge of Theft and was sentenced to two years probation with a $25 a month probation fee plus four days in Morgan County Jail with credit for two days served.
She was also fined $500 with a schedule 5 assessment of $439 and ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $500. Per the plea agreement, the original charge of Burglary, a Class 2 Felony, was dismissed.
Castleberry was arrested by Murrayville-Woodson Police on May 21, 2021 in connection with a burglary at the Murrayville Fast Stop convenience store that occurred during the early morning hours of June 5, 2020.
Surveillance video was made available by Crime Stoppers in an effort to identify the two suspects who can be seen kicking in a window and gaining entry on the north side of the building. The two subjects then made off with an undetermined amount of merchandise.
The other suspect in the burglary, Krissa N. Gernigin, 20, of Alton, was arrested last year as well. She also faces a burglary charge. She is due in court on May 4 for a pre-trial hearing.
