Granddaughters of the late Jerry and Rita Schulz of Barry, Bailey and Kaycee Schulz, were named Valedictorian and Salutatorian, respectively, at White Pine High School in Ely, NV. The two are graduating with a GPA of 4.6 (0.001 apart).
Bailey and Kaycee are in the Army National Guard and will go to Basic Training two weeks after graduation and then AIT (training in their field). They have been doing drills one weekend a month. Bailey is going to be a 68W- Combat Medic and Kaycee is going to be an 88M- Motor Transport Operator. Their grandfather Jerry Schulz was in the Army Reserves.
The twins plan to attend University of Nevada in Reno. Bailey wants to become a Nurse Practitioner and Kaycee, a Dental Hygienist.
They currently have a work study. Kaycee works with the DA’s office in Ely. She has a passion for law, but is undecided about law school. Bailey works with a Nurse Practitioner here in town, named Amy Barney. Both girls volunteered and later worked two summers with the YCC (Youth Conservation Corps) with the Forest Service.
They are members of the National Honor Society, 4H Ambassadors, and youth group at Bayside Church in Ely. They have a part time cleaning job, cleaning offices in the evenings.
The twins are cross country and track runners and are at the top of that too. Both were top 10 in the state of Nevada for cross country.
