The Carrollton Lady Hawks spent Saturday playing in the Nasvhille Invitational Tournament where they took home the third place trophy. The Carrollton Lady Hawks had a full day of softball Saturday traveling to Nashville to play in the Nashville Invitational Tournament where they took home the third place trophy.
They earned that trophy by defeating Waltonville 9-8 in the first game where the Lady Hawks walked it off in the bottom half of the inning with a three-run double by Lauren Flowers. Flowers picked up the win pitching the last two innings.
The Lady Hawks were led in the hitting department by Hannah Uhles and Megan Camden who had 3 hits each. Camden was on fire with two home runs in the game. Flowers and Daci Walls each had 2 hits and Flowers had 4 RBI’s while Camden knocked in 3 RBI’s.
In the second game Carrollton fell to Breese Central 5-3. Lauren Flowers took the loss going the distance with 7 strike outs while giving up 5 runs (0 earned). Ella Stumpf had 2 hits while Daci Walls and Marissa Cox each had an RBI.
In the third game, Carrollton knocked off Nashville 9-3.
Ryan Kallal picked up the win going 3.1 innings with 5 strikeouts. Lauren Flowers picked up the save. The Lady Hawks had 10 hits in the game with Uhles, Flowers, Walls and Lauren Walker each collecting 2 hits apiece.
Flowers and Walker had 3 RBI’s Uhles finished with 2 RBI’s Marissa Cox had a great diving catch in the third inning.
