In conjunction with the opening of the King Park Dog Park planned for late June, Picture Pittsfield is launching a dog photo contest. “Picture Your Pup” encourages residents of Pittsfield and Pike County to submit digital photos of their canine friends via a special Facebook group or by email and tell why their pup is the best there is!
The submission period begins May 26 and closes at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8. Some basic information will be needed: dog’s name, human’s name, email and phone number. Dogs and humans must reside in Pike County. One photo per dog, but multiple dogs per human are allowed. No professional photographs or photographers please.
The submitted digital photos will be judged by a panel of Picture Pittsfield volunteers and the top 12 photos will be featured in the Pike County Express on June15, and presented to the public for voting beginning then and through 5 PM CDT on June 21. Voting will be via Facebook and email. The winner will be announced at the Dog Park Grand Opening currently scheduled for June 25. The prize will be a basket of dog goodies, including gift cards and treats-and of course, bragging rights!
Please upload your cute dog photos to the Picture Your Pup Facebook Group, or by email to [email protected]. For information call Kaye Iftner, 201-314-3624.
The King Park Dog Park is a cooperative effort of the Rotary Club of Pike County, Picture Pittsfield, and the City of Pittsfield.
