A two-vehicle accident on the Hillview Blacktop, near Moore Road, Friday morning sent to people from Roodhouse to the hospital. The accident was serious, but not as serious as it looks.
A two-car accident Friday morning on the Hillview Road injured Lucinda Chapman, 57, and Terry L. Evans, 55, both of Roodhouse. Both were taken to local hospitals, but are believed to be home now.
According to Illinois State Police, Chapman was westbound on Moore Road when she pulled into traffic southbound. She was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Traverse.
As she pulled onto the south-bound lane of the Hillview Road, she was struck by a 1999 International truck-tractor semi-trailer, driven by Evans. Chapman’s vehicle overturned upon impact and Evans semi overturned as he tried to avoid striking Chapman’s vehicle.
The accident remains under investigation. ISP officers were assisted at the scene by several emergency response teams.
