Early voting for the June 28 Illinois primary is underway.
The Pike County Clerk’s office was open this past Saturday and will be open June 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.and June 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The June 27 hours in the county clerk’s office will be extended until 7 p.m.
Voters will be picking their party’s candidate for United State’s Senator, governor and lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, comptroller, treasurer, United States Representative, the parties central committee person, state senator, state representative, county clerk, county treasurer, county sheriff, regional superintendent of schools, county board members and the judge of the circuit court as well as local precinct committeemen.
Democrats have contested races for secretary of state, governor/lieutenant governor.
Republicans have contested races for United States Senator, governor/lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, United States Representative, and 10 are running for nine seats on the county board.
