The Education Contest winners and families joined the Catholic Daughters of the Americas (CDA) of Court St. Joan #522 for a 6 p.m. potluck supper on May 3 at the Carrollton KC Hall. The meal prayer was led by Father Tony Chowrappa. The winners received their awards from Regent Denise Sanders. The themes were: “With God All Things Are Possible,” Matthew 19:26 or “Where is God when I am struggling.”
Regent Sanders opened the meeting with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Secretary Alice Massey and Treasurer Mary Jane Schofield reported. Vice Regent Tammy Isringhausen read an invitation to the 100th anniversary celebration of Court Columbus #720 in Effingham on June 12. The Mass was held at St. Anthony Church.
Mary Dawdy reported on sending greeting cards.
Mary Helen Isringhausen gave a dessert sales report, thanking all of the helpers and those who purchased the sweets.
The audit report found they have 51 members plus honorary members. New members are welcome!.
The slate of officers for election include Regent Tammy Isringhausen, Vice Regent Amber Brannan, Secretary Liz Killion , Treasurer Mary Jane Schofield, Financial Secretary Kathy Carter.
St. John annual dinner and picnic is June 26 at the KC Hall. CDA will sponsor a basket for raffle designed by Andi Evans.
The Health Fair will be on the courthouse lawn in June.
Leaders of the rosary on Sunday mornings at 7:30 include JoAn Benz, Liz Killion, and Theresa Strahan.
Birthdays: Carol Nord, JoAn Benz, Donna Flatt, Mary Jane Schofield, Dorothy Godar, Stacy Vandersand, Becky Reed, Kathy Kaiser.
Kathy Carter won the 50/50 drawing. Flowers were awarded by drawing names.
The June 1 meeting at 7 p.m. will include the installation of officers for 2022-2024.
