• The 13th Annual Hummingbird Festival will take place at 1424 Northeast 1500 St., Roodhouse, IL., from 1-4 p.m. Refreshments will be available, attendees are asked to arrive on time and bring lawn chairs. Sunday, Aug. 14
• A Perry Pioneer Days “Sip & Ride” fundraiser will take place in Perry the evening of Aug. 14 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Properly licensed drivers with golf carts, side-by-sides, 4-wheelers, Razors or other motorized/electric vehicles should meet at the Perry School at 6 p.m. The group will proceed uptown to the park for refreshments, then around town in the “Sip & Ride” parade. Sweet tea, tea, lemonade, root beer/Pepsi floats will be served for a donation before and after the ride at the Perry Park. Those without vehicles are encouraged to head straight to the park for refreshments. Games and activities for kids will be available. A Jeep ride to the Perry Springs area is also being planned.
