The Bluffs Picnic starts Saturday morning and features a day full of Wild West fun, including a rodeo.
The rodeo will give kids a chance to try their hand at mutton busting, catching a greased pig and herding activities.
And for older participants the new craze, throwing an axe, will be available.
The day kicks off at 7 a.m with kettle service for the village’s famous burgoo.
At 7:30 a.m. there will be a 5K to benefit the Bluffs High School yearbook. The car show begins at 8 a.m.
The parade starts at 10 a.m. and by 11 a.m. the stage will be full for pageant contestant introductions. There will also be games, food, wobble wagon rides going at this time.
Muddy Truckers will be noon and burgoo bowl service is from noon until 2 p.m.
Noon to 3 p.m. will be an escape room and the West Central Dance team will perform at 12:15 p.m.
Grit and Grace, a women’s horse club, will be in attendance at 12:30 p.m, the same time as the Little Mr and Miss crowning on stage.
Buckles and Boots Country Line Dancers will perform at 2 p.m. and Kids Rodeo will start at the same time and last until 4.
The Junior Miss and Miss pageant will start at 5 p.m. and axe throwing will be from 5-7 p.m.
Comedian Jeremy Nunes will take the stage at 6 p.m. and Stompin Grounds will follow at 7 p.m.
Fireworks will begin at 9 p.m., near the school.
