The County Board discussed plans for setting up electrical at the community center during Monday’s board meeting.
The board is in the process of looking for bids for the work, but are expecting costs at approximately $43,000, not including a discount that Ameren provides for public buildings.
There’s still a lot of work that needs done in the building, but in, order to move forward, need to get power and lights. Once power and lights are ready, other renovations can begin including the windows, restrooms and flooring.
The board also signed a resolution of support for the Calhoun Community Swimming Pool Association as they proceed with grant applications from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to upgrade the swimming pool.
After closing the pool early over the summer, the pool association has been in the process of completing repairs and upgrades. If the grant is approved improvements will take place over the next summer, allowing the pool to reopen in the summer of 2024.
In other business the board approved the annual report from the County Clerk, which generated $10,000 more in revenue this year and the fiscal year budget and budget appropriation transfers.
