Work started Monday on digging the pits for the new gas pumps going in at the Spring Creek Convenience Store. This will mark the first time since 1985 Nebo has offered gas for sale.
Shane and Kim Norton, owners of the Spring Creek Convenience Store in Nebo are adding gas to their business.
“We will have two pumps,” Shane Norton said. “One will have two hoses and offer gas, the other will have two hoses and offer diesel.”
Norton said he is an independent and will be able to purchase gas from whichever company offers the best price.
The Nortons have also remodeled their building making it easier to enter the building after pumping gas.
“Customers can come in through either side now,” Norton said. “We hope to be able to pump gas by the end of October.”
The last gas station in Nebo was owned by Tom Crane and closed in 1985, according to Norton
