The trees are colorful and the air is crisp and cool with a nice wind on a fall day. The county enjoyed two events in Hardin over the weekend. The first was St. Norbert’s Chicken Dinner with all the trimmings, and the traditional craft items, quilt raffle, and bake sale were part of the annual event one looks forward to. There were many familiar people to visit and talk with which made it fun for all.
The other was the Trappers Rendezvous with old time kettles steaming with pork cracklins, kettle corn and pork chops. They were also set up near the River Dock. Items from early American traditions of rustic styles of dress, and items there were the theme of the day. It was a good day to be in Hardin.
Some of the folks at the Hardin dinner were Judy Lamer, her daughter, Andrea; and her granddaughters, Sophie, and Holly. Aunt Marcy Klockenkemper joined them. Jerome and Betty Sievers, Lee and Jean Tepen, and many others were there as well.
