Dozens of stores, salons, restaurants and pop-up vendors are participating in this year’s Girls Night Out on the Square in Pittsfield, which takes place Thursday, Nov. 3, from 4-8 p.m.
Participating businesses are located around Pike County’s courthouse square and adjacent blocks. Other participating businesses from throughout the county are invited to set up pop-up locations around the square with the Chamber of Commerce’s assistance. Each business will be offering special promotions and door prizes.
According to Pittsfield Mayor Gary Mendenhall, Girls Night Out plays an important role in supporting Pike County businesses.
“Girls Night Out attracts out-of-town visitors to Pittsfield,” Mendenhall said. “It introduces them to all our shops around the square. Hopefully they develop a relationship with our businesses, and they become long-term customers to our businesses.”
“From the city’s perspective, anytime money is spent here and local businesses are promoted, that’s a good thing for everybody.”
Like most years, many businesses will have other vendors set up inside their business with even more items to explore and purchase.

Girls Night Out on the Square is a cooperative event between the City of Pittsfield, the Pike County businesses and the Pike County Chamber of Commerce.
