PCRE Real Estate & Auction, Inc, Pikeland Motors, Best Systems, Inc. and Route. 54 Car & Pet Wash recently donated $4,000 to help process more deer for local food pantries. Access Food, which started in 2006, is a program of Two Rivers Resource Conservation and Development and Access Illinois Outdoors that pays for the processing of deer donated by hunters and distributes the meat to food pantries throughout the county. The deer are processed at Hilltop Custom Meats/Smith Taxidermy. On hand for the donation, front row: Richard Smith, Brenda Middendorf, of Access Illinois, Nikki Fish. Back row: Doug Daniel, Michael Smith, Chris Nichols and Robert Smith.
