Students in grades four through eight at St. Mary School had an opportunity to demonstrate their geographic literacy and increase their earthly knowledge through the school’s annual Geographic Bee, which took place on Friday, Dec. 9.
Students were asked to answer questions concerning topographical features, climate, culture, and location facts. The first round was written quiz questions pertaining to state and continent trivia. The top six highest scores moved on to the oral level.
Eve Schleeper, sixth grade daughter of Kenneth and Sarah Schleeper of Golden Eagle, won the oral school level bee at St. Mary School. Drew Friedel, fifth grade son of Neal and Charlene Friedel of Golden Eagle, placed second. Third place winner, Camryn Klaas, eighth grade daughter of Brett and Jennifer Klaas, resides in Batchtown.
