On Thursday, Jan. 12, Poppy’s Flower Patch in Barry hosted local officials and representatives from the Pike County Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting at the recently opened flower shop. Poppy’s Flower Patch is owned and operated by husband and wife Nicholas and Leanna Orrill of Payson. The couple opened the shop on Dec. 7. Orrill said that the couple was drawn to the idea of opening the shop in Barry, because of demand for florists in western Pike County and rural Adams County, and because they like the idea of supporting the local economies of small towns.Poppy’s Flower Patch is open Monday through Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Orrill directs residents to the shop’s Facebook page – https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100086591628065 – for more information.
