Loretta J. Ramsey | 77 | Jerseyville

Loretta J. Ramsey, 77, of Jerseyville, was born to John Amos Hill and Mollie (Webb) Hill on Feb. 20, 1945. Mom’s first husband, our dad, Bruce Lee Ramsey left to be with Jesus on Jan. 11, 2010… almost 13 years ago to the day. She is survived by her current husband, Robert Lorentz; daughters, Melissa (Radar) Pangaean and Heather (Andrew) Brandt; granddaughters, Lydia (Cameron) Davis, Emily (Aaron) Due and Hope Brandt; and great-granddaughters, Ava Joy and Eden Hope Davis.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, Mom’s roots would not stay planted there.  But in all the places that she lived she made new friends, some of whom became lifelong relationships, rich and blessed. One of her friends recently said, “My life was made richer because you were in it.”
Mama was a loving and faithful wife, mother, daughter, and sister.  Everyone who met her soon learned to love her. She was a woman of quiet wisdom and faith who learned, through the struggles of life, to depend on Jesus and trust him and she heard from him and followed where he led her. Mom’s life story spoke of this constant provision in her life.
Mama was a helpmate to her husband and she loved her family (and her various church families) with sweet, unconditional love that never wavered.  She was a dependable worker.  She was a caregiver to many, first (and last) to her husband and her children, extending to her mother and sister as well as her church family.
Mom was blessed with the gift of hospitality and even though she was an introverted person, her door was always open with a heart to serve others, she always seemed to facilitate an atmosphere where other were loved and accepted just the way they were. In this way, she exemplified the hands of Christ. Today, Jan. 10, 2023, Mom was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven, her eternal home.
Per her request, no services will be held.
