The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office announced the 2022 Deputy and Dispatchers of the Year.
Dispatchers Richard Gibbs and Tammy Betts were both named the 2022 Calhoun County Dispatchers of the Year, after a popular vote in the department finished in a two-way tie.
Gibbs has been with the Sheriff’s Office for nearly eight years and was also awarded a Life Saving Award earlier in 2022.
“Richard is a dedicated member of the department and we are thankful for all of his hard work,” the Sheriff said in a release.
Betts, who also serves as Administrator for the Sheriff’s Office has been with the department for over 15 years.
“Tammy has been at the core of the department for many years and handles a multitude of tasks and duties,” the release said.
Deputy Zach Hardin was voted the 2022 Deputy of the Year, after recently being promoted to Sergeant.
“Deputy Hardin has been instrumental in attacking the drugs and crime in Calhoun, which resulted in Deputy Hardin making over 100 felony arrests during the year of 2022,” the Sheriff’s Office said. “Thank you all for your hard work and dedication. Every member of the Sheriff’s Office brings value to the table and helps to continue to make the Kingdom of Calhoun the best place in the state to live.”
