Approximately 50 people showed up Saturday morning at King Park to celebrate the official opening of the StoryWalk, which travels along the perimeter of King Park.
“The city put in the story boards for us starting in Febrary and finishing up in March,” Sarah Rudd, librarian at the Pittsfield Public Library, said. “We received a grant for a portion of the funding for the $7,500 project, which includes 24 story boards. Then we had donors step up and we were able to proceed. Others contributing to the project were: Susan and Rich Feezel, the Nancy Peebles Family, the Tracy Foundation, the Pittsfield Lions Club and Beth Stark
Library staff will keep the boards updated with stories that young and old alike can read as they walk the new walking path at King Park.
