The Bluffs Village Board set Aug. 3 and 8 as clean-up days within the village. The decision was made at the May 3 meeting.
Residents can take items, not accepted by regular garbage pick-up, but still available for the landfill to the dumpsters which will be at the plant. Summer help will work the gates. The village traditionally tries to have clean-up right before the Bluffs Picnic to spruce up at the town for the event.
The board also took the opportunity to swear in the members of the board who were elected in April.
Those elected were Kathy Brooks, for two years and Tim Welch, Brenda Kauffman and Kim Schaad for four year terms.
The board learned Galen Lovekamp has made and I DOOD IT game and donated it to the village to use at town picnic and other events. The game is similar to bingo.
Good news at the meeting was insurance costs for the workers dropped $140; Leo’s Pizza Bus is scheduled to be in tow May 24 from 11-1 and July 18 from 4-6. It is hoped another day can be added.
Roger Evans received Yard of the Month.
The board also voted to renew the liquor license for Sleepy’s Bar and Grill, doing business as Poker’s and the Blue Jay Junction.
The village is working with Russ Coultas to remove the big tree between the library and the Shaw’s home. The tree needs to be removed to accommodate the new park renovations.
