The Bob Price Memorial Scholarship awarded 11 $1,000 scholarships to students in Carrollton (one), North Greene (two), Litchfield (one), Raymond (two), Carlinville (one), Hillsboro (two), and Staunton (two).
The scholarship is in memory of Master Sergeant Price and a way to continue his legacy of serving others by helping students fulfill their career dreams.
Carrollton recipient was Jaelyn Camden. She plans to attend Southern Illinois University and study nursing. Camden is the daughter of David and Melanie Camden.
North Greene recipients are Garrett Newingham and Cayden Eilers. Newingham plans to attend Lewis & Clark Community College and study criminal justice. He is the son of Robyn and Gregory Williams.
Eilers plans to attend the University of Wyoming and study conservation and biology management. He is the son of Penny and Colby Eilers.
The scholarship is available annually to graduating high school seniors in the five counties of Illinois State Police District #18 (Calhoun, Greene, Jersey, Macoupin and Montgomery).
In the past ten years that the scholarship has been available, 71 scholarships have been awarded.
