The Calhoun High School trap team brought home first place at the State Trap Championship on Saturday, with around 200 teams and 1,000 athletes competing.
Calhoun’s Wyatt Sibley was first place in the male category and high overall and Calhoun’s Alyssa Bonner placed third in the female category.
Wyatt Sibley, Landon Sievers, and Steven Margherio were selected to the 2023 All State Team.
The CHS trap team’s state awards include:
1A Conference 5 Ranking: first place.
Novice team champions.
Individual Conference Awards: first place male, Wyatt Sibley; second place male, Landon Sievers; third place male, Steven Margherio; third place female, Alyssa Bonner.
Individual trap State Ranking: fifth place male, Wyatt Sibley; ninth place male, Landon Sievers; 15th place male, Steven Margherio; and sixth place female Alyssa Bonner.
