Local horsemen, Blake and Geoffrey Driskill and Mark and Karen Walker all of Carrollton were winners of the three year old filly pace when their horse, SOUTH GATE SALLY, won the one mile pace in the eighth race at the Greene County Fair last Wednesday, May 31st. Several members and friends of the Walker family came to celebrate in the winners circle after the filly left the other competitors more than two lengths behind in her 202.2/5 finish with Jamaica Patton driving. First year 4-H member, Jade Range, had a banner day at the Greene County 4-H fair. In fact, it was a two banner day for the young livestock showing lady. Range won the Grand Champion Heifer over all breeds with her junior yearling Simmental heifer, “Emma”. In the swine show, Range took home the Reserve Grand Champion honors with her crossbred barrow named “Spot”. Photo of Range showing her champion heifer was taken by six year old brother, Jack Range, a budding photographer. In the world of 4-H, Jack would be known as a ‘Clover Bud’ which is your title until the age of nine is reached and you can become a full fledged member. (Photo courtesy of Jack Range)
