You read that right – what a melon. These were some of the beautiful Beardstown melons that Eric Berry had up for grabs at the Carrollton Farmer’s Market recently. The market offers just about anything imaginable. In just a short stroll one can purchase a watermelon, grab some fresh baked cookies, take home a fresh baked pie for grandma, grab some sweet corn, pick out a loaf of zucchini bread and select from a variety of assorted homemade jellies and jams, grab some tomatoes, cucumbers, fresh green beans, cabbage, plums, peaches, onions, radishes and just about anything else that grows in a garden. And to top it all off, one can even get a bouquet of fresh flowers to go on the table.
